Literature festival from May 1-3

ISLAMABAD - The 14th Children’s Literature Festival (CLF) along with the Teachers’ Literature Festival (TLF) would take place at Federal College of Education from May 1-3.
According to the organizers of the festivals, the Teachers’ Literature Festival would be held on May 1 and Children Literature Festival would be held from May 2-3.
The festivals would be organized by Idara-e-Taleem-O-Aagahi (ITA), Oxford University Press (OUP) in collaboration with Open Society Foundations (OSF) and Federal College of Education (FCE).
Teachers’ Literature Festival (TLF) would engage 2000 teachers on core concepts and practices of CLFs. 
On each of the three days, this is a free public event for all school systems of Islamabad and Punjab from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm of 14 learning multisensory programmes to promote the culture of reading for creativity, imagination and stimulation beyond textbooks and tests.
About 3000 teachers and 20,000 children are expected to attend these festivals for which a unique poster has been designed by the prominent artist and member, Board of Directors CLF, Fauzia Minallah.
Each hall of the Federal College of Education has been named after classical and popular literature, authors, poets and characters, such as Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Kitab Ghar, Bulleh Shah, Iqbal, Manto, Koh-i-Simorogh, Ibn-e-Insha, Faiz Ghar, Dastaan Sa’aray making them come alive in the imagination of children.
CLF was founded in collaboration with like-minded stakeholders including publishers, government, CSOs and corporate partners to explore large public spaces for learning.
CLF is an equalizer and enables children from all school systems to explore the world of expression, reading and imagination beyond textbooks. The festivals would be a unique experience and transformative experience generously supported by many authors, poets, artists, musicians, dancers, theatre experts institutions and sponsors.
Director Programmes of ITA and Founder of CLF, Baela Raza Jamil, Managing Director Oxford University Press Ameena Saiyid co-founder of CLF,  Rumana Husain, member, Board of Directors CLF (CLF), Fauzia Minallah, member, Board of Directors CLF and Nargis Sultana, Senior Program Officer Open Society Foundations and Director Federal College of Education, Rashida Fatima are among the organizers of the event.
Founded by Baela Raza Jamil of Idara-e-Taleem-O-Aagahi (ITA) and co-founded  by Ameena Saiyid, of the Oxford University Press (OUP) in collaboration with Open Society Foundations (OSF), it is a social movement in response to low levels of learning in Pakistan (ASER 2009-2013) to promote reading, creative writing and critical thinking across Pakistan and beyond (www.childrensliteraturefestival.com) .
