HARIPUR - As many as 37 activists of defunct Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) were set free from the Haripur Central Prison on Tuesday.
An official said the Deputy Commissioner Haripur issued the release order of 50 defunct TLP workers. However, 37 activists could be released by Tuesday afternoon after they submitted affidavits pledging not to indulge in any unlawful activity in the future. The remaining defunct TLP workers would also be released after they submit their affidavits.
The police had nabbed more than 50 activists from all over Haripur district under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) amid recent countrywide protests by the banned party.
