BAHAWALPUR - A video-link meeting of the administrative officers of the three districts was held under the chairmanship of Bahawalpur Commissioner Captain Muhammad Zafar Iqbal in which the measures taken regarding hoarding and artificial inflation across the division were reviewed.
Commissioner informed during the meeting that action was taken against illegal shipment of more than 5,000 tonnes of wheat in the division during the current month. He said that the attempt to smuggle wheat worth Rs332.8 million was foiled. During the month, action was taken against illegal transport of 5267 tonnes of wheat from Bahawalpur Division. 
The meeting was informed in the briefing that action was taken against illegal stockpiling of 239 tonnes of sugar and 590 tonnes of rice in Bahawalpur division during one month.  Commissioner Captain Zafar Iqbal said that strict action would be taken against hoarders and profiteers and they would be dealt with iron hands.
