Sri Lankan boxing coach praises facilities at joint camp

ISLAMABAD Sri Lanka boxing coach Jolio Sanlana expressed satisfaction over the facilities provided to them during the ongoing joint boxing camp here at Laiquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex. Talking to TheNation here on Friday, he said that it would be good opportunity for Sri Lankan players and would help improve their game in the joint training camp. Three boys are here and seven more pugilists will arrive here on September 7 to join this camp, he said. Tennakoon Mudiyanselage will compete in the 75 kilogram weight category while Jayathi Rajpaske in 64 during the Commonwealth Games which will be held from October 3 to 14 at New Delhi, India. Suranga Mudannayake will show his muscles in the 69 kilogram weight category in the regional mega event of the year, he added. Cuban Oregon coach Jolio Sanlana added that the boys would learn more during this hectic 30-day training camp. Pakistan is providing all facilities here at sports arena. My boys are happy to visit Pakistan for this camp. We will perform well in the upcoming international boxing fixtures, he hoped. Rajpaske said that Pakistan was looking same like Sri Lanka. Pakistan is providing excellent conditions for training. We hold our two training each day in this complex including the outdoor and the indoor. Food is also good and according to requirement of an athletes, he said.
