PML-N MPA, 13 others booked on court orders

SIALKOT - On the order of the Sialkot District and Sessions Judge (DSJ), the Sambrial Police registered a case against PML-N MPA Liaqat Ali Ghuman and his 13 accomplices for torturing and keeping rival PML-Q local leaders in illegal detention on Eidul Fitr Day (August 20).
According to the FIR, Naveed Ahmed Ghuman, Muhammad Nasir and Mehmood Nasir were passing through near the Dera of MPA Ch Liaqat Ali Ghuman in the evening on August 20. In the meanwhile, 13 accused including Rafaqat Anwar, Asif Yaqub, Zain Rafaqat, Jazab Asmat Ullah, Muhammad Yaqoob Deewan, Ali Liaqat Ghuman, the son of MPA Liaqat Ghuman and Muhammad Ishaq armed with Kalashankoves, guns, wooden and hockey sticks made them hostage. They took them to the Dera of the MPA where they brutally tortured them.
The according to one of the victims Naveed Ahmed, the accused had already detained his brother Nabeel and cousin Usman at the said Dera.
On the other hand, the Sambrial Police also registered a case against seven accused including four nominated accused Naveed Ahmed Ghuman, the complainant of case lodged against the MPA), Nabeel Ahmed, Usman and Zahid Alam Bhatti on charges of attacking the Dera of MPA Ch Liaqat Ali Ghuman located in village Jethikey with the intention to kill the MPA, on Eidul Fitr Day (August 20, 2012).
Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, PML-N MPA Ch Liaqat Ali Ghuman termed the case against him as false, saying that he was not present at his Dera at that time. He said the case against him was a conspiracy of his PML-Q backed political rivals.
Meanwhile, DPO Afzaal Ahmed Kausar informed that no accused from either could be arrested yet. He elaborated that an investigation was underway and the accused would be arrested in the light of its report.
