ISLAMABAD - Expediting efforts to trace theft cases, the Islamabad Police recovered stolen items worth Rs 131 million during the current year after resolving 266 cases successfully, a police spokesman said on Monday. According to a press note issued from the office of Senior Superintendent of Islamabad Police on Monday, heads of all of the circles of capital territory police were doing their best to bring down crime rate in their respective areas by accelerating efforts in tracing the theft as well as burglary cases and provide maximum relief to citizens by resolving their problems.
During the first seven months of this year, the Islamabad police resolved a total of 266 theft cases and arrested hundreds of accused besides a total recovery of worth Rs 13,10,88,000 from their possession.
The City Zone police arrested a total of 129 theft accused and 43 cases were resolved while Saddar Zone police resolved 106 theft cases and arrested 187 thieves.
Likewise, the Industrial Area police successfully completed investigation in 46 cases and arrested 94 thieves while Rural Zone Circle resolved 69 cases and arrested 106 thieves.
