PPP always respected SC, says Kaira

ISLAMABAD  -  Federal Information Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday said that the PPP government always implemented judicial orders and his party would also carry out the directives of Supreme Court even if they were against it.
Talking to the media at the Supreme Court, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that PPP always respected judiciary, and was ready to sacrifice for democracy.
He said that the PPP always implemented the Court orders despite of its concerns. Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf appeared before the apex court as a mark of respect the PPP accorded to the judiciary, he added.
He assured that a solution of the NRO issue would definitely be found out. Kaira said that the PPP implemented the court’s order regarding the disqualification of former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and questioned as to why one could say that court’s orders were not being implemented.
Separately, Interior Minister Rehman  Malik, while talking to the media, said that PM Ashraf's appearance before the Supreme Court is a clear testimony that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) respects the judiciary.
The minister said, "We are not the ones who attacked the Supreme Court (SC)." Like in the past, the government will acknowledge the ruling of the apex court in connection with the NRO Implementation case, he added. Rehman Malik said that they always respected the judiciary, adding that they never attacked Supreme Court like others. The interior minister said that the apex court's orders would be implemented in accordance with the law. About the future strategy, Malik refused to reply, saying that law minister could give the better answer of the question.

He said that the court had given time to Prime Minister for consulting the NRO case with his law experts.

He said that PPP was expecting a fair treatment from court.
