Shahbaz wants results from police

Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif Tuesday said that the police have been provided all sorts of resources and now he wanted results from them, while he has ordered for the recruitment of 4,000 retired soldiers for combating crimes in the city here.
Presiding over a law and order meeting in Model Town here, the Punjab CM ordered for the recruitment of 4,000 retired soldiers on contract for combating crimes and deploying police on the roads and streets in residential colonies for the control of street crimes.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the law and order could not be established without eradicating terrorism and extremism. He has also ordered for taking effective measures controlling the incidents of extortion.
The chief minister asked the secretary prosecution to report weekly about the expeditious prosecution of the accused persons under arrest and a comprehensive program should be chalked out for disposing of the old pending cases.
