KP NAB arrests another man in arms scandal

PESHAWAR- National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Wednesday arrested one Arshad Chishti of Rawalpindi who obtained Rs 4.5 million as bribe for using his links for closure of an inquiry in NAB in notorious arms scandal.
According to details, Arshad Majeed, an arms supplier who later became approver in arms scandal, disclosed that he paid Rs 34.5 million to Akhtar Muhammad for closing inquiry in NAB. Akhtar Muhammad was arrested by NAB on May 31, 2014. During interrogation Akhtar admitted that he received Rs 34.5 million from Arshad and out of that paid Rs 4.5 million to Chishti for using his links to close a NAB inquiry.
The accused was produced before the accountability court on Wednesday and the court granted 14 days physical remand of the accused.
