Rehman Malik urges Afghan Taliban to act against TTP

India will try to increase its activities in ex-FATA, Balochistan by using TTP, Balochis as ‘Azad Group’

ISLAMABAD   -  Former Interior Minister and Chairman Institute of Research and Reforms Rehman Malik yesterday urged the Afghan Taliban to act against the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. The Pakistan People’s Party leader said Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Baradar must hand over the wanted TTP leaders to Pakistan.

He said that merely making a commission to look into activities of TTP will not be enough but the Taliban’s new administration will need to hand over them to Pakistan.  In a statement, Malik said that TTP leaders were wanted in Pakistan in many terrorist activities as “We never forget the massacre of Army Public School Peshawar and other terrorist attacks wherein thousands of innocent civilians and troops were killed by the Taliban.”

He said that releasing TTP terrorists could prove detrimental and dangerous for Pakistan and also for the whole region.  “The fencing on Pak-Afghan border played an important role as it not only stopped the influx of refugees but also controlled the terrorist infiltration in Pakistan from Afghanistan,” he added.

Senator Rehman Malik said that the ousted vice-president of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh was basically planted, trained, financed and in-charge of operations against Pakistan and China whose major objective was to de-stabilise Pakistan through terrorist activities and insurgency in Balochistan and parts of KP at behest of India.

He said that Saleh was spitting venom against Pakistan from his Twitter handle after the fall of Kabul rather than realizing that India played a double game with the Ghani government.

He said that India will try to increase its activities in ex-FATA and Balochistan by using TTP and Balochis as ‘Azad Group’ because India was interfering in Balochistan by supporting and financing disgruntled Baloch leaders.

The former Interior Minister said that there were two groups in Afghan Taliban – the Kandahari Taliban and Khost Taliban who are known as the Haqqani network and both differ ideologically.

He said the Haqqani network had a soft corner for Al-Qaeda, he added. He said that now the terrorist centers in Kandahar will be shifted around Kunar - the HQ of TTP Chief Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud.

He said that Molvi Faqeer Muhammad recently released from Bagram Jail is now sitting in Kunar working over a bigger conspiracy duly supervised by India against Pakistan.

Malik said that though Taliban leadership had appointed a commission to look into activities of TTP but it is not enough as TTP needs to be crushed. He said that Pakistan and new authorities in Afghanistan may use force against TTP to seize the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan and to ensure to stop further terroristic activities against Pakistan, CPEC, and Chinese interests both in Pakistan and China.

Senator Malik said, “I am advising the authorities of Pakistan and the Taliban that for the future relationship, stern actions against TTP is absolutely important for the peace of the entire region”.  He said that he wishes peace prevails in Afghanistan as peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan.
