GARHI KHUDA BUX Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said that process of probe into the killing of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto by the UN has been extended by one month, asserting all the facts behind her assassination would be placed before the nation. Talking to the media here after offering fateha at the mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bux, the PM maintained that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto were the symbol of the Federation and unity of Pakistan. We will continue their mission, achievements, cherished objectives, till the implementation of PPP manifesto and their vision. According to him, the Constitution of 1973 is an asset of the nation and we will safeguard the asset of Shaheed Zuflikar Ali Bhutto with the support of the media and the civil society. He assured the nation that the 1973 Constitution would be restored to its original form and the present government would take all measures to strengthen the Federation through political reconciliation. He said the democratic institutions and ideology of Pakistan would be protected with the support of masses and unanimous consensus by all the political parties. The Prime Minister said the whole world, the nation, the civil society and the media support democracy in Pakistan and the government would ensure its further strength. He said that PPP believes in politics of reconciliation and we do not want politics of confrontation. PM Gilani announced to convert Garhi Khuda Bux Village into a model village of the country, stressing that as it was a dream of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto so we would fulfil her mission in letter and spirit. In this regard, a committee would forward to him its recommendations, he said. He expressed his firm determination to carry forward the mission of the PPP leaders by taking along all political forces of the country. He said under the prevailing situation it was all the more necessary for all political forces to stand together to take the country forward. He said the Day that coincides with the 9th of Muharram reminds us of the sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) for glory of his faith and religion thus setting an example that needs to be emulated. The Prime Minister later called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Naudero to offer his condolences. PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also present on this occasion.
