RAWALPINDI - The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG)/City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Muhammad Ahsan Younas has been transferred by the government, informed sources on Saturday. A notification in this regard has also been issued by the Establishment Division according to which the services of the DIG are placed at the disposal of government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), with immediate effect and until further orders, they said.

“This notification is being issued under Rotation Policy 2020 and as per its para 13, the officer cannot be posted in geographical limits of government of Punjab for a period of two years, from the date of joining at a station outside the geographical limits of the government of Punjab,” the notification reads, copy of which is also available with The Nation.

Muhammad Ahsan Younas had been posted as CPO Rawalpindi by Punjab government in December 2019.
