PPP's offer of two Senate seats to MQM

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has offered two Senate seats from Sindh to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) in return for vote to Yousuf Raza Gillani in Senate election.

Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that PPP’s candidates are ready to hand over the general and women seat to the MQM-P for support to Yusuf Raza Gillani in Senate elections.

A PPP delegation comprising Nasir Hussain Shah, Murtaza Wahab, Sharjeel Memon and Waqar Mehdi visited MQM-P headquarters in Bahadurabad, where they were welcomed by the party’s senior deputy convener Amir Khan.

A meeting was held between the MQM leaders and the PPP delegation after which the leaders of both the parties spoke to the media.

PPP leaders said they are ready to withdraw their candidates against the two seats where the MQM-P is contesting the Senate polls from the Sindh province. However, they need MQM’s support for their candidate from the national assembly Yousaf Raza Gillani.

He said that they have come over instructions of Bilawal Bhutto adding that MQM has said that it will put our requests in the coordination committee.

Nasir Hussain said that PTI was very scared in Punjab, their own members had reservations about PTI candidates.
