Shalimar Express schedule disrupted by damaged track

MIRPURKHAS - The Lahore-bound Shalimar Express was halted for a couple of hours at the Kotri station after a track ahead was found damaged.

The train was allowed to resume its journey only after the damaged portion of the track was repaired by a team of labourers under the supervision of Pakistan Railways engineers and technicians. The latest was the fifth such incident this week in Sindh. The schedule of many train services had been disrupted due the earlier incidents.

In Mirpurkhas, a man crossing tracks under railway bridge at Scheme-II of Satellite Town died when he was run over by Mehran Express, coming from Karachi. The deceased, later identified as Israr Pathan, was a resident of the Scheme-II. The body was taken to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
