KPRA crosses Rs11b revenue target

PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has crossed its revenue collection target of Rs11billion for the financial year-2018 and collected Rs04 billion for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government during four months (April-July) for the outgoing FY year.

The authority collected Rs01 billion continuously every month from April to June. It is pertinent to mention here that, the current Director General Nasir Khan assumed his charge from April 2018, and KPRA on his directives collected Rs01 billion every month continuously (April-June) from small, medium and large service providers/business in terms of Sales Tax on services, while keeping his (KPRA) conventional record on track in achieving revenue targets.

KPRA crossed its revenue target and is fully hopeful for next year target.

The DG praised the achievement and said that every passing day the authority performance is improving which is crystal clear from the outgoing four months revenue collection achievements, wherein it collected Rs01 billion in every month from last April to June which is a huge amount of revenue for the provincial government.

The DG expressed that the target is crossed due to the hard work and fully devotion of the KPRA team and also with the cooperation of all other stakeholders and service providers and thus the authority keeps his conventional record alive in terms of achieving the revenue targets.

The DG said that another good omen in this respect is, that from the last April when he assumed the charge, the KPRA not only persuaded small, medium and large service providers/business/taxpayers to pay sale tax on services but also provide them an opportunity to play their due role in the development and self-reliance of KP, which also largely increase the revenue of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The DG further expressed, that KPRA was given Rs12 billion target for the FY2018, which was achieved with grace and pride of the KPRA team, however, Rs1.9 billion is KPRA dues towards FBR in terms of Input Tax Adjustment, if paid by the FBR to KPRA which is the due right of this province under the law, then KPRA will cross the target for this fiscal year.

On this occasion the DG also approved one basic pay salary for all the KPRA staff as an honorarium for their outstanding and hard work towards achieving the revenue target for current fiscal year and expressed that the KPRA team will continue their efforts and hard work for the authority in future too.
