Filmi, very filmi...

Indian government has been up in the arms after the Mumbai terror incident. Under Indian pressure, we had immediately banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa locked its office, hospitals, dispensaries, education & welfare centres from which millions could have benefited. I think the PPP government has went overboard in an effort to appease them. With unprecedented efficiency, the micro details of the Mumbai incident were dug out from somewhere as if the terrorist had provided our government with a video copy of all their action from the day operation was thought up. But what about the dastardly incident of Liberty Chowk, Lahore where the perpetrators executed their crime in virtual slow motion as if shooting a horror movie under the direction of the government of Punjab? The Governor, it appears, was too busy trading horses and mares in the Punjab Assembly to really care. The saddest part of this episode is the total silence of the government on result of the inquiry. Strangely, not even one terrorist was hauled up. -NOOURE ZEENATE JEHAN, Karachi, via e-mail, March 20.
