Q MPs target party minister for ‘corruption’

ISLAMABAD - PML-Q parliamentarians on Tuesday came down hard on the Minister for Housing and Works Faisal Saleh Hayat during the parliamentary party meeting and accused him of making corruption and defaming of the party.
Sources in the Q-league informed this scribe that MNA Riaz Fatyana raised this issue during the parliamentary party meeting held here at the residence of PML-Q Chief Ch Shujat Hussain. “Riaz Fatayan alleged that Faisal was involved in corruption and was becoming a cause of defamation to the party. Besides, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and Bushra Gohar also followed Fatyana and said that they have also been receiving such complaints from people,” sources said. They further said that Fatyana had been active against Faisal Saleh Hayat in the party and often wrote letters to other party men alleging that Faisal Saleh Hayat had made corruption.  It is pertinent to mention here that a blame game was in full swing between the two Faisal Saleh Hayat and Riaz Fatyana and Minister for Housing and Works has already sent a case to National Accountability Bureau regarding corruption in a bridge constructed in the area of Fatyana.
In a press conference held in the second week of this current month, Faisal Saleh Hayat hinted that a sitting MNA was involved in corruption in a bridge construction. He told media that the ministry had sent this case to NAB. Faisal during that press conference has also asked that if somebody has proofs of corruption against him, he should go to court as he went against the corruption in RPPs.
Similarly, Riaz Fatyana has been reportedly alleging Fiasal Saleh Hayat for decorating his office in Secretariat with out following the procedure.
However when TheNation tried to contact Federal Minister for Housing and Works for his comments on these allegations, the mobile cell was found switched off however the Ministry official informed that Minister for Housing Faisal Saleh Hayat was in Dubai and will be back probably on coming Monday.
Meanwhile, source told that the Parliamentary party meeting was actually called to evolve a strategy or party’s point of view on the recommendations of Parliamentary committee on National Security. “We have decided that the party would not support the govt in all recommendations, however it would prepare its own paper of proposals to add or replace it with the existing recommendations,” sources said, adding that the joint sitting of the Parliament may prolong further for a week however the Q- League would present its proposals in next couple of days.
The meeting was attended by Ch Shujat Hussain, Ch Pervaiz Elahi, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Kamil Ali Agha, Nosheen Saeed while all Q- League’s minister and minister of States excluding Sh Waqqas Akram and Faisal Saleh Hayat attended the meeting.
