A simple but well-thought-out impressive quotation by the founding father Quaid-e-Azam, at many places and occasions either at public meetings or in addresses to students he was seen  quoting by saying with great emphasis that there must be “unity, faith and discipline” among us in every walk of life. Here is a question needing to be answered. Have we ever pondered over as to why our founder used to say at many occasions emphatically? Have we not deliberately ignored this guiding-principle? Apart from these questions, let us see the significance and importance of this guiding-quotation till this era.

1. Unity

As we are well aware that unity is strength. Unity, basically, is a structuring-base upon which a building is constructed. The more the structuring-base is strong, the more strong building like nation will be constructed upon. In simple wording it will be appropriate to interpret that unity is a shaping and much needed factor to be inculcated.

2. Faith

It is a by-product of unity. Where there is unity, faith will be there. If unity is structuring-base, faith is just like the cement which makes the unity-based-building a strong and consolidated one. One step ahead of faith there is the success. Faith is the soul of every thing.

3. Discipline

Unity is preceded by faith that is followed by discipline which is like a scale of weighting the intellectual, social, political, and cultural weight of a nation. Well aware nations always pay concentrated attention to discipline in every field of life. The sense of discipline mirrors the mental maturity of the individual and the level of awareness of the nations.

Keeping in views all the above-mentioned discussion, it becomes the quite result oriented quotation to be followed in letter and spirit.

But this personality-developing, nation-building and collectively unifying or binding force is fortunately much quoted but unfortunately less acted upon it.

There is one institution ARMY- in Pakistan which follows this principle, not only acting upon it but also implementing on it strictly. Result is that Pak Army is the only seemingly well-organized, relatively less corruption-immune institution.

Unity is the real strength of any nation which germinates faith in one's own power and capacity, and both together instills the feelings of discipline which is the identifying-symbol of the well aware nation.

United nation stands for glory, faithful nation makes history and disciplined nation is the guiding principle to be followed by upcoming generations.

So, in conclusion, how simply but thought-provokingly the ever-great leader_QUAiD-E-Azam- urged us to follow this in true sense. The concept of unity is multidimensional in its application and multi faceted in its meanings. It is not just to live together harmoniously. Rather in principle, it involves by implicating more than one salient characteristics of unity: sectarian unity, political unity, economical unity, religious unity, ethical unity, societal unity, educational unity, social unity, in short the concept of unity implies unity of all kinds, among all people and in every field branch or walk of life. Given the prevailing situation of Pakistan, this is the most desired and much needed, much helpful in making our country to be called a country of the united people with united objectives to make this country a prosperous and progressive country.

As unity, both faith and discipline, each paving the way straight for each other, are of paramount significance. If a country needs unity to be regarded as united internally, faith with discipline equally is essential to be remained strong externally.

Unity is like a prelude to the memorable and progressive achievements based on unwavering faith leading to a well disciplined nation.

We are what we do. If we create unity among us we will be united nation. If we have faith in one another, we will be faithful with each other. If we are well disciplined, we will be followed by either the contemporary generation or by the upcoming generation.

We must not only follow the path shown by our Quaid through this quotation collectively but also act upon it individually and morally.
