JSQM to stage Sindh-wide protest tomorrow

NAWABSHAH -Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Acting Chairman Dr Niaz Kalani said division of Sindh is impossible as long as even a single Sindhi lived, reported a private TV channel.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Dr Kalani announced his party would stage a peaceful protest across the province on May 29 (tomorrow) against the arrest and raids on the houses of his party workers following the incident of firing on a bus a couple of days back. He said more than 100 JSQM workers were taken into custody following the attack on bus in Qazi Ahmed area.
The JSQM leader alleged that the government was involved in firing on the Awami Tehreek-led rally in Karachi and that it was the government’s responsibility to provide security to the participants.
He said the law and order situation was going from bad to worse in the province Sindh because Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has also been working as Home Minister after taking its charge from Manzoor Wassan.
Meanwhile, transporters have also threatened to block the Super Highway on Monday (today) against the non-arrest of suspects involved in the Nawabshah incident in which at least nine innocent passengers were gunned down and sixteen others injured by unidentified assailants a couple of days back.
Addressing a press conference, Sindh Bus Owners Association (SBOA) President Malik Riaz Awan announced that the Super Highway would be blocked today if the perpetrators of the Nawabshah attack were not arrested. Representatives of Oil Tanker Association (OTA) were also present on the occasion.
On the other hand, the IG Sindh has appealed to the transporters to call off their protest plan, but the transporters refused to do so, saying it would be done only after the arrest of the killers.
