Service at Your Doorstep programme launched in Bahawalpur, Khanewal

Debris, waste will be removed, street lights will be repaired; drainage of sewerage water, cleaning of public toilets will be done; govt buildings, schools, health centres, hospitals will be whitewashed

Bahawalpur/ Khanewal - On the direction of Punjab government and like other districts of Punjab, programme ‘Khidmat Aapke Dahleez Par (Service at Your Doorstep) was launched in Bahawalpur and Khanewal districts. 

Deputy Commissioner Bahwalpur Irfan Ali Kathia inaugurated the programme at One Unit Chowk near Khidmat-e-Aap. Deputy Information Secretary PTI Women Wing Sameera Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Naeem Akhtar, officers of relevant departments, staff, Tiger Force and representatives of civil society were present on the occasion. Workers of Bahawalpur Waste Management Company with the help of heavy machinery lifted a large amount of debris near One Unit Chowk and cleared the area. 

Expressing his views, Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said that the programme “Khidmat Aapke Dahliz Par” is very important. Under this programme, in the first week of cleaning, debris will be removed from the city apart from waste. The city will have street lights repaired and wall chalking removed. The Deputy Commissioner said that in the second week, drainage of sewage water, repair and cleaning of public toilets will be made. Manholes will be repaired, while government buildings, schools, health centers, hospital cleaning, and whitewashing will be done in the third week under the ‘Service at Your Doorstep’ programme. The administration will provide relief to the people. 

The deputy commissioner said that people will be able to register their grievances with the help of the app on which they will be given immediate relief. He also distributed information brochures on the occasion.

Meanwhile, on direction of Punjab CM Usman Buzdar, programme ‘Khidmat Aap ki Dehleez Par’ was also launched in district Khanewal.

According to details, the four-week programme is aimed at improving public service delivery. In Khanewal this programme was started with the aim of ´Saaf Sarsabz Khanewal (Clean and Green Khanewal). Under the active supervision of deputy commissioner Khanewal, city district administration officers, local government officers and sanitary workers came out in the field to make this programme a success. On the first day of this programme, sanitary workers squad remained busy in cleaning and washing streets and roads of the city. DC Khanewal said that this was a revolutionary programme of Chief Minister Punjab. In the first week of this programme, district administration will concentrate on cleanliness of buildings and roads of the city. In second week, all the workers will solve sewerage issues of the city. In the third week, all the workers will clean and wash the government buildings like schools, hospitals and basic health units.
