Adjournment motion submitted in PA

LAHORE - Chaudhry Zahee-ruddin, Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly, has submitted an adjournment motion in the provincial assembly in reaction on a news item of extraordinary bill of Rs 15 million against the use of helicopter by the chief minister Punjab. Talking to media on Saturday, he said that provincial chief executive was spending lavishly despite the fact that there were no funds for the payment of salaries to the provincial government employees. Development projects were halted and hospitals were working without medicines. He said that the federal government had sent the bill of the helicopter to Chief Minister Punjab after 50 percent discount, as the real bill was Rs 30 million. Federal government should give such discount to the poor passengers of the railways. Meanwhile, opposition members of Punjab Assembly including Amir Sultan Cheema, Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry and Dr Samaya Amjad said in a press statement that supporters of RGST in Council of Common Interests should abandon hypocritical trends. They said that PML-N should not blame the PML-Q for conniving with the federal government on the issue of RGST, as the PML-N was running a coalition government with PPP in the province.
