LAKKI MARWAT - As many as five persons were killed and two others, including a passerby, were seriously injured over a family feud in Bakhmal Ahmadzai, here on Monday.
According to the local police, the incident took place at Malang Adda-Tajori Road, connecting Tajori town with frontier tribal region, when the ill-fatted persons were travelling to Tajori from Serai Gambila on a motorcycle.
The armed rivals ambushed the car when it reached near Bakhmal Ahmadzai village in the limits of Tajori police station, killing five persons on the spot, the police said.
The deceased persons have been identified as Haji Umar Daraz, Bahadar Zaman, Shamroz, Sher Khan and Basit.
Meanwhile, a relative of the deceased persons and a passerby sustained serious bullet wounds in the firing attack. The attackers escaped on their motorbikes.
The bodies and injured persons were shifted to a hospital in Tajori town from where the injured were referred to Bannu hospital due to their serious conditions. The bodies were later handed over to relatives for burial after fulfilling medico-legal formalities.
The police said that the families of the deceased and accused persons had a blood feud and that they began investigation after registration of case against the alleged killers under the relevant section of the law.
Meanwhile, three persons were seriously injured in a firing incident in Nawerkhel area of Lakki city.
The local police said that the firing incident took place in the precinct of Lakki Marwat police station. They said that three villagers, identified as Rizwan, Jehanzeb and Bilal, were attacked by their rivals when they were going to Eesakhel village from Nawerkhel on a motorcycle.
As soon as the victim persons reached near the bridge on Nawerkhel road the attackers ambushed them, the police said.
The victims sustained serious bullet injuries in the gun attack and were shifted to the government city hospital by local residents.
They said that one of the wounded men Rizwan nominated Saqib, Muhammad Ali and Adnan in FIR for the attack.
The police said that the families of victims and attackers had a blood feud and the shooters made good escape after the incident.
Separate cases have been registered under the relevant laws, police said.
