ISLAMABAD - In a bid to support, encourage and promote home-based women entrepreneurs across the country, wecamp Festival 2021 is all set to kick-off on Sunday, from 10am to 4pm at the Fatima Jinnah F-9 Park whereas the entrance for participants will be from F-10 Bolan Gate. 
The different business pavilions at the festival would include home decor, home textile, apparel, arts and crafts, skincare and haircare products, cosmetic products, organic oils and food products, and live food and bakery.  Atomcamp (a skill development organisation), in collaboration with the Bank of Punjab, Graana.com, Islamabad Administration, Islamabad Police, and SEED Project KP were organising the wecamp (women entrepreneurs camp) Festival 2021, said a news release.  The festival was providing a free space for 100 women entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services and expand their consumer base. 
“This will also enable them to expand their business networks by interacting with other women entrepreneurs. Another goal of this festival is to encourage and inspire women who have not yet started their businesses to enter into the field of entrepreneurship,” it said.  Through the wecamp Festival 2021, atomcamp aimed to recognise, celebrate, encourage, and increase the visibility of home-based women entrepreneurs in Pakistan. Home-based women entrepreneurs contribute immensely to the sustainability of the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector in Pakistan by increasing women’s economic participation in the labor force. Women entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in reducing gender inequality and unemployment and ensuring the financial empowerment of women.  The festival will be attended by several diplomats, public office holders and people from all walks of life. 
The event will be inaugurated by Chair SDGs Committee on Child Rights - MNA Mehnaz Akber Aziz (PML-N), MNA Shahida Akhter Ali (JUI), Special Assistant to Prime Minister MNA Ali Nawaz Awan (PTI), MNA Mussarat Mahesar (PPP), MNA Dr Shazia Sobia (PPP), and Coordinator Women Wing to the Secretary General PTI - MNA Nafisa Khattak (PTI). Their presence will support atomcamp’s effort to uplift Pakistan’s workforce through skill development. We envision developing an intellectually and professionally strong workforce in Pakistan through such programmes. A cross political party support for the event shows how political leadership is now united to support women entrepreneurship.
Commissioner Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and IG Islamabad Police will also visit the event. They have also been supporting this cause.
CEO and co-founder of atomcamp, Shua Khalid urged people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to visit wecamp festival in F-9 park and be part of women’s entrepreneurial journey.
