Two matches decided in Defence Day Cup Basketball Tournament

LAHORE-Two matches were decided in the Defence Day Cup Basketball Tournament 2022 being played at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court, Aram Bagh Karachi. 
In the first match, Usman Basketball Club defeated Bahria Colts by 49-41. Hamza Khawaja scored 16 points, Maharz 13 and Nabeel Ahmed scored 10 points. From the losing club, Abrar Hussain contributed with 12 points, Israr Hussain 10 points and Kamran Khan 8 points. 
In the second match, Mumba Squad defeated Aram Bagh Club by 38-35. In this match, Muhammad Talha emerged as top scorer with 12 points while Zakaria (10) and Samir (9) also played well. The key contributors from the losing club were Saad Salahuddin (11), Hasan Ali (10) and Abdul Hafeez (8). In this match, Amir Sharif, Zafar Iqbal and Adnan Salehin acted as referees while Ashraf Yahya, Naeem Ahmed and Raj Kumar performed the duties of technical officials. 
At the beginning of the second match, MCB Vice President Muhammad Haider Khan and Baldia South Director Sports Asif Azim graced the occasion as guests of honour. They were also introduced with the players in the presence of SHO Aram Bagh Azam Rajpar, KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan and Muhammad Yaqub. 
Meanwhile, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon will meet the Karachi Girls Basketball team today (Wednesday) at his office at 3:00 pm and distribute kits among them on behalf of the team sponsor Muhammad Shakeel John CEO ‘Har Pal Taza Chai’. The Karachi Girls Basketball Team will leave for Islamabad on October 1 to participate in the National Girls Basketball Championship.
