SUKKUR - A married woman was shot dead on the pretext of ‘karo-Kari’ (honour killing) at village Rahooja in the limits of SITE, Police Station on Sunday morning in Sukkur.
According to police, a woman identified as Ambreen Lakhan was shot dead and it was suspected that her father named Qurban Lakhan along with his son Javeed Lakhan allegedly killed his married daughter Ambreen Lakhan, for honor killing and dumped his dead body at isolated place of a street and fled away from the scene of incident.
The locals informed the police, who shifted the dead to Civil Hospital Sukkur for an autopsy after having conducting post-mortem examination the dead body of the deceased woman handed over to her relatives.
Ambreen was married to Abid Lakhan and she was staying at her parents’ house after developing some issues with her husband.
The area police have arrested the younger brother Javeed Lakhan along with weapon used to kill the girl.
Before the arrest, it was reported that the father of the girl, with his son’s help, had killed the girl.
An FIR was not registered till this story was filed while Police have said that if the victim’s parents do not register the case, the government would register the case against the accused on the behalf of state.
Police arrest Lyari gang war member Rafique Baloch
Police raided different areas of Karachi’s Lyari on Sunday, arresting gang war member of Baba Ladla group Rafique Baloch aka Rafu.
According to reports, search operations were conducted in Lyari’s Dubai Chowk, Phool Pati Lane, Saifee Lane and Shah Baig Lane.
Rafique Baloch was arrested during a raid. Weapons and drugs were also recovered from his possession. The suspect, wanted for murder, attempted murder and extortion, was running several drug dens in Lyari.
Four outlaws held
Karachi Police arrested four accused from different parts of metropolis during last 24 hours.
Pak Colony Police arrested two drug carriers accused Ibrahim and Abdul Majeed. Police also recovered 140 grams of Hashish and a pistol along with rounds from their possession.
Super Market Police arrested two street accused Muhammad Sumair and Muhammad Umer. Two pistols with rounds, four snatched cell phones and a motorbike were also recovered from the possession of arrested accused.
Cases have been registered and further investigations are underway.
