peshawar - Hindu community organised a cultural musical concert in the provincial capital on Saturday.
Besides Hindus, people from other religious faiths also attended the event. Speakers on the occasion said that the event is aimed at promoting the image of a peaceful Pakistan.
“The world should know that in Pakistan, Hindus and other faiths are organising their cultural events without any fear,” said a speaker.
Speaking to The Nation, focal person of the National Lobbying Delegation for Minority Rights Haroon Sarb Diyal said that music plays an important role in promoting peaceful coexistence in society.
“Music is part of all cultures but our Hindu community uses music even in religious rites,” said Haroon, who is also executive director of Faith Tourism International (FTI).
He also appreciated a Pashto singer Shahid Malang and how he has earned fame through his skills of playing the rabab instrument.
