LAHORE - PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari will hold meeting with Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri at Model Town today.
Both leaders, according to a spokesperson, will finalise plan of the PAT-led multi-party conference scheduled to be held on Saturday.
Zardari-Qadri meeting was earlier scheduled to take place on Thursday but it was been re-scheduled because of PPP leader’s pressing engagements.
Zaradi will meet Dr Qadri second time in less than two weeks period. PPP co-chairman met with Qadri in Lahore on December 7 and threw his weight behind Qadri’s demand seeking resignations of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah by December 31 in view of their alleged involvement in the Model Town massacre in which at least 14 members of the PAT were killed in June 2014.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan who on Tuesday met Dr Qadri also extended his party’s unconditional support to PAT’s anticipated campaign against Punjab CM and law minister.
Although it is so far not confirmed whether Imran and Zaradi are personally attending MPC of PAT or they will send their party delegations to the meeting. But observers say if held Zardari-Qadri meeting will be of great significance as it is considered as an attempt to gather two arch-rivals on one platform.
Asif Zaradi will also chair a party meeting in Bilawal House Lahore and discuss next election plan in Punjab.
