Bank looted

Islamabad Lawlessness is spreading sense of insecurity among the citizens as on Thursday four unidentified persons entered a bank in Sector I-9 and flew with Rs 1 million cash. The incident took place at 12:30 p.m. when four unidentified persons, armed with weapons, entered the bank and made hostage all the employees including security guards. Eyewitness told this scribe that four persons came in a white colour Toyota car. Two of them grabbed the security guard on duty outside the bank and took him inside. They locked the doors from inside and snatched the money from the cashier on gunpoint. An employee of the bank upon condition of anonymity told this scribe that one of the robbers was busy on phone with someone outside. They took away the CCTV camera with them. However, the staff of the bank remained safe in the dacoity. When this scribe contacted IGP Islamabad, he said that earlier in crime meeting it was made clear to all the officers that in case of dacoity the SHO of the concerned police station would be sacked. Implementing the words the SHO I-9 Sajjad Bokhari has been suspended. The IGP said that Show Cause has also been served to the SHO for further departmental inquiry. Case has been registered and police team has been constituted to ensure the arrest of the dacoits, he added. It would be relevant to mention here that during last three months three banks were looted in Industrial area circle. Yet the police have not arrested the culprits of any dacoity incident. The public believe that in broad daylight the dacoity, looting and plundering is not possible without the consent of the area police. The high ups must take notice on increasing dacoity incidents, carjacking and looting in the federal capital city of the country. Meanwhile the dacoity incident took place in Banni Gala where three un-identified persons entered the house of Mrs Khalid Sohail and looted gold ornaments worth Rs 2 million. Bhara Kahu police have registered the case.
