PML-N rally receives warm welcome on arrival in Rawalpindi district

A large number of PML-N leaders, workers and supporters escorted Maryam’s vehicle while showering flowers at Gujar Khan

rawalpindi   -   The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Rawalpindi chapter has accorded a warm welcome to Maryam Nawaz, the party’s central leader, when she reached at Gujar Khan from Lahore while leading ‘End Inflation March’ here on Monday.


When the motorcade of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the daughter of former prime minister   Mian Nawaz Sharif, entered the city, a large number of PML-N leaders, workers and supporters gave her a tumultuous welcome. She was flanked by MNA Hamza Shehbaz Sharif and other leaders of PML-N.


The very charged workers of PML-N league chanted slogans in her favour and escorted her vehicle while throwing rose petals on it. Maryam Nawaz Sharif made an appearance of her out of vehicle and waved hands towards the workers who were holding party flags, portraits of Mian Nawaz Sharif, Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif and other leaders.


A large number of small and big rallies led by PML-N Leaders Malik Abrar Ahmed, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Malik Iftikhar, Chaudhry Sarfraz Afzal, Barrister Danial Ahmed Chaudhry, Chaudhry Ayaz Ahmed, and others  joined the main rally of Maryam Nawaz Sharif at Faizabad.  “The PML-N has been working for many days to organise another power show in Islamabad,” said Malik Abrar Ahmed, the ex-MNA from Rawalpindi.


He said a large number of workers of PML-N as well as the general public are taking part in a rally to welcome Maryam on her visit to Islamabad.


 “The rising prices of edibles and other daily use items have made the lives of the public a living hell,” said PML-N local leader Rashid Gulfraz Abbasi while talking to The Nation.   He said only Mian Nawaz Sharif can steer Pakistan out of crises.


 Meanwhile, the City police authorities have made foolproof security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident on arrival of Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s rally in Rawalpindi. As many as 2420 cops, officers and traffic wardens were deployed in the city to maintain law and order as well as to control traffic rush. CPO along with other senior officers   also paid visits to various parts of the city to monitor the security arrangement.  On the other hand, ICT police also ramped up security of federal capital upon arrival of Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s rally. The traffic police also implemented a traffic plan to facilitate the participants of the rally and the other road users. Despite all the efforts by traffic police of twin cities, a gigantic traffic jam occurred on GT Road and Islamabad Expressway, posing severe hardships for commuters.
