PPP biggest beneficiary of reserved seats in Sindh



KARACHI - The PPP Parliamentarians has emerged as majority as well as biggest beneficiary of the reserved seats in Sindh Assembly with 21 MPAs elected on reserved seats for women and minorities.
Out of total 29 seats reserved for women, 16 women of PPP elected on reserved seats which include former MNA Shagufta Jumani, former Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, former advisor and PPP leader Sharmila Farooqi, Iram Khalid, Nusrat Sultana, Kulsoom Akhtar Chandio for second time, Shehnaz Begum, Rehana Leghari, Shamim Mumtaz, Dr Sajeela Leghari for second term, Rukhsana Parveen Shah for second term, Shaheena, Ghazala Siyal, former MNA Rubina Saadat Qaimkhani, Saira Shahliani for third term and Farhat Seemi.
The MQM is the second beneficiary of the reserved seat for women as its 9 women reached Sindh Assembly, include Sumeta Afzal Syed, Bilquees Mukhtar for second term, Heer Soho for third term, Aisha Khatoon, Rana Ansar, Shazia Jawaid, Irum Azeem Farooque and Naila Munir. While two women of PML-F including Mehtab Akbar Rashdi and Nusrat Sehar Abbasi reached Sindh Assembly on reserved seats. Similarly, one MPA each of PML-N and PTI reached Sindh Assembly on reserved seats for women, which include PML-N women wing president Sorath Thebo and PTI’s Dr Seemi Zia.  Meanwhile, in 9 reserved seats for minorities, five MPAs of PPP reached Sindh Assembly, which include Dr Lal Chand Ukrani, Giyanoo Mal from Thana Bola Khan, district Jamshoro, former Excise minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla,
Engineer Pesu Mal and Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan from Umerkot of Thar area become assembly member. Three MPAs of MQM reached in Sindh Assembly on reserved seats for minorities include former MPA Ponjo Bheel, Arif Masih Bhatti and Dewan Chand Chawla. PML-F’s MPA Nand Kumar has reached Sindh Assembly on reserved seats for minority.
