LAHORE  - A mother-of-two was recovered dead from a drain in Sanda, a day after she went missing, police said on Thursday. The body was moved to morgue for autopsy.

Twenty-six-year-old Farhat Bibi had been residing at her parents’ house in the Abubakar Colony since she had differences with her husband, Javed, a resident of Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Area, police was told.

On Wednesday evening, the woman left her house alone but did not return. Some passersby spotted the body Thursday morning and told police by phone. Later, she was identified as Farhat, daughter of Razzaq Bhatti.

 According to police, the body didn’t bear torture marks while Rs4,250 and a mobile phone was taken into custody. Investigators also recorded the statements of neighbours and collected cell phone data.
