KABUL- Prince Karim Aga Khan, leader of the Ismaili Muslims hailed the former Afghan President Hamid Karzai for his efforts in reconstruction of Afghanistan.
The President Palace media office following a statement said Prince Karim Aga Khan met with the former president Hamid Karzai today.
Prince Aga Khan was among the several foreign dignitaries who attended the presidential inauguration which was the first peaceful transition of power in the history of Afghanistan. Prince Aga Khan reaffirmed support to Afghanistan and the Afghan people during his meeting the former president, the statement said.
Karzai also hailed the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) for supporting Afghanistan during the past 13 years and urged for continued support of the Aga Khan network in Afghanistan.
The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) has been actively involved in the reconstruction of Afghanistan, mainly in health and education sectors.
