ISLAMABAD - A group of senior officers, within the promotion zone of BS-20, participating in the Senior Management course at National Management College NIPA Lahore visited Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistans Head Office as a part of the their learning programme. Sarwat Aftab, Director International Affairs, Communication and Coordination Department of SECP, gave a detailed presentation to the participants on the role, functions and initiatives taken by the Commission since its incorporation. In her presentation, Sarwat focused on the main objectives of the Commission which are to facilitate the development of modern and efficient corporate sector and capital market, based on sound regulatory principles, that provide impetus for high economic growth, to develop a fair, efficient and transparent regulatory framework, based on international legal standards and best practices and to protect the rights of investors and to take measures to mitigate systemic risk.
