MDA seals illegal buildings in Multan

MULTAN - Multan Development Authority (MDA) enforcement unit sealed different buildings and raised a boundary to ground in an operation against encroachments.

The anti-encroachment unit sealed a showroom and workshop of Malik Jahangir at Sher Shah Road which was built without map approval, a hotel and two shops owned by Fayyaz Ahmed, a marriage hall of Liaqat on Old Shujabad Road and a hall of M Aslam near Kaanyainpur. These building were built against by laws of MDA. Deputy Director Enforcement unit, Afaq Bhatti led the operation while deputy director town planning, Qandeel Raza, and police assisted it, said a news release issued here on Thursday.

Quackery on rise 

in Muzaffargarh

Quackery is on the rise in Muzaffargarh and in its suburban areas which has put the lives of citizens at risk.

Locals told media on Thursday that mushroom growth of quack clinics was from Jamal Wala Chowk to Turk chowk on Mahmood Kot Road. They alleged that health department officials were helping the quacks to run their clinics.

They appealed to health minister, Dr Yasmin Rashid, CEO health, Dr Mahr Iqbal to take notice of the grim situation. When approached, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), DHA, Dr Mahr Iqbal informed that a grand operation would be launched soon to eradicate quackery. 

Seven held over 

violation of Corona SOPs

District administration along with Rangers and police launched joint crackdown and arrested seven persons over violation of corona SOPs. In line with special directions of Deputy Commissioner Ali Shahzad, the crackdown against corona SOPs violators was continued across the district while teams sealed 17 various trade centres and two restaurants.

Similarly, 11 passenger buses were challaned over violation. While Rs1,76,000 fine was also imposed to violators of corona SOPs. The law enforcement departments also paid visit to railway station to ensure implementation on corona SOPs.

The district government has decided to depute special magistrates for effective implementation on corona SOPs. DC Ali Shahzad has written a letter to Additional Chief Secretary Home Punjab to assign special magistrate powers to officials.
