The clashes in Karachi University that left 4 dead and 14 injured were the worst in nature. They not only ruined credibility of the universiry administration but also gave a massage about what sort of education students were receiving here. Subsequently, the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology, and some other institutions were also shut for a day in the wake of these clashes. Thousands of students daily go to study at KU. Their parents think they are providing them best of education. Pity they receive dead and injured bodies of their scions instead. The nation is already left behind in education and such incidents are hardly a source of motivation to parents. Some of them might be able to send their children to more peaceful, private universities but there would still be some that are forced to ask their children to drop out altogether. University administration should take strict action against such incidents and bring to justice whoever might be responsible. This is the only way we can save the future. -M.
