IPC minister visits PSB

ISLAMABAD  -  Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Dr Fahmida Mirza visited Pakistan Sports Board Wednesday and had detailed briefing from Acting Director General Pakistan Sports Board Arif Ibrahim.

While talking to selected group of sports journalists Dr Fahmida said: “When sports grounds are packed with youth, then a healthy society is formed. The government is taking serious steps to ensure playing grounds get back to normalcy, especially after the great sacrifices of armed forces ensure overall security situation of the country is drastically improved.”

She said Prime Minister Imran Khan had time and again stressed the need to focus on grassroots level work, which will ensure country had better chances of winning international medals.

She was given detailed briefing about the affiliated federations. She was told that PSB bore the expenditures of 245-member Pakistani contingent, which is taking part in Asian Games, while the federations total annual grant amounts to Rs 5.3 million.

She was further briefed that federations were also given special grants as well. DDG Shahid Islam, Agha Amjedullah, Director Finance Ghazaffanar Javed and others were also present on the occasion. Later Dr Fahmida called Nargis, Hassan Sardar, Pakistan Kabbadi team manager, Pakistan athletics team manager and others in Jakarta and congratulated them for showing exceptional performance in Asian Games.
