ISLAMABAD - Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa would take members of Parliament into confidence on national security matters as well as the latest situation in Afghanistan today at the GHQ, Rawalpindi.
Those MPs who have been invited to visit the GHQ are Chairman and members of Parliamentary Kashmir Committee, Senate Defence Committee members and its Chairman and National Assembly Defence Committee and its members including Chairman.
Notifications of meetings by both the Kashmir Committee and Senate and NA committees have been issued to all members that they would visit the GHQ on 30th August 2021.
When contacted, Chairman Senate Defence Committee Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed told The Nation that it’s basically a briefing on national security matters by the Army Chief to members of Parliament belonging to Senate and NA defence committees including Kashmir committee.
He said the evolving security situation in Afghanistan would be top of the agenda as it has a direct impact on Pakistan.
Senator Musahhid said after briefing by the Army Chief, there would be a question and answer session by the MPs and they are free to ask questions related to national security and Afghanistan to the Army Chief.
