Double standards

For the past few days, people are crediting MQM as a party with commitment, devotion towards the masses. Such words make me surprise and I cannot help laughing out loud. MQM is a party which has stayed in power for the last 10 to 12 years. In Karachi, the stronghold of MQM, it has its Governor since the beginning of this decade and Nazim for 5 years along with town nazims. But, I am unable to see that the destiny of Karachites has changed a bit. When people say that MQM would change the destiny of people of Pakistan, I wonder how come a party which could not change the destiny of Karachi would change the destiny of whole of Pakistan. In Karachi, crime rate is higher than any city and bullet is used to silence the voices of dissent. Power outages have intensified. While the KESC could not be governed and reined, industries are shutting down owing to extortion by the thugs in the city. I would ask MQM high ups that a set of principles should be devised and they should immediately withdraw from the Sindh Government. This act would immensely improve their image all over the country.
