Fraudster nabbed

Lahore - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has arrested a man on  charges of fleecing through selling plots/lands on fabricated documents.

According to NAB spokesman, an investigation was authorised against Haji Abdul Qayyum and his accomplices. It transpired that Abdul Qayyum, in connivance with others, sold out plots of LDA to the public on forged documents and caused loss of millions to the national exchequer, the official said, adding that the accused was declared a proclaimed offender (PO) in 2010 and arrested in Lahore on Friday. He will be produced in an accountability court to seek his physical remand.

Meanwhile, Investigation Police Cantonment Division arrested eight accused involved in murder and burglary cases and recovered Rs2.9 million and other items.

SP Cantonment Investigation Dr Anoosh Masood Chaudhry was addressing a press conference at PS Defence A, reported APP. He said that Investigation Incharge Homicide of PS Factory Area arrested a killer namely Naseer Ahmad involved in a murder of his step-mother Mukhtaran Bibi over domestic issue. Incharge Homicide of PS Baghbanpura arrested an accused, Usama, involved in killing Naila Bibi.

PS Heer police arrested five accused of a burglar gang and recovered 20-tola gold ornaments and other items worth millions of rupees. During interrogation, the gangsters confessed 11 incidents committed in different areas of the city.
