Rs80m sanctioned for new sports stadium

AHMEDPUR EAST -  The Punjab government has released Rs80 million for the construction of a new sports stadium in Ahmedpur East while a separate sports stadium for women will be built with an estimated cost of Rs20 million.

This was announced by PML-N MPA Qazi Adnan Farid while addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new sport stadium here the other day.

The ceremony was presided over by Ahmedpur East Municipal Committee Chairman Malik Usman Rasheed Bobak. The MPA informed that Pakistan Sports Board has started work for this state-of-the-art sports stadium where facilities to play first class cricket matches will be provided. Adnan Farid further informed that a beautiful pavilion will be a part of this new stadium, adding a big generator and water turbines will also be installed so that sport contests could be continued despite power loadshedding. “Similarly, floodlights will be installed at the stadium and pitches will be available for cricket practice,” he added.

MC Chairman Malik Usman Rasheed Bobak expressed gratitude to MPA Adnan Farid for fulfilling his election commitments, claiming that Mr Farid has completed record development projects in the history of Ahmedpur East.
