Admin claims 197 projects afoot

HAFIZABAD-A total of 197 projects costing Rs162 million under the Local Government Development Package have been started in the union councils and towns of the district, said the district administration.
While reviewing the pace of ongoing development projects, the admin officers said that the provincial government had provided Rs2.5 million to each union council while Rs500,000 to every ward in the Municipal Committees in the district which would improve the civic amenities in rural and urban areas at par.
The admin directed the Deputy Director Development, Shahid Iqbal Bhatti, Chief Officer District Council Altaf Hussain, Chief Officers of the all MCs to ensure utilisation of funds in transparent manners. The DC added that she would not compromise on the use of quality material.
She warned the constructors that she would show zero tolerance if substandard material was used while executing the projects to be completed by February 28.
EXAMS: Fifth and eighth class examinations will commence from February 3, Punjab Education Commission announced. Examination centres have been established, Roll No slips to the candidates have been issued and invigilators and superintendents have been appointed.
Meanwhile, an oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected office-bearers of District Union of Journalists/Press Club Hafizabad will be held here on January 31 (Wednesday).
Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage, Marriyom Aurangzeb will administer the oath while federal minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar will be Guest of Honour.
