Mazhar takes charge as NIFT Executive Director

ISLAMABAD - Mazharul Islam took charge as Executive Director of the National Institute of Folk & Traditional here on Tuesday. Executive Director of Lok Virsa (National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage), Uxi Mufti had been removed from his services on July 26. The Establishment Division has issued the termination order of Uxi Mufti on July 28 and replaced him with Senior Director of Lok Virsa Mazharul Islam as its new boss. Mazharul Islam was working in Lok Virsa since 1974. Initially, he was appointed in Lok Virsa as Director Publication. During his career he wrote eight books. His short stories have been translated into many languages. Mazharul Islam who was serving the NIFTH as a senior director since 2004 has held important position, including Director General of Pakistan Academy of Letters. At present he performs his duties as a Senior Director looking after Norwegian grant.
