ISLAMABAD The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday summoned DG ISI, DG MI and DPO Rahim Yar Khan to submit reply on August 4 in a missing persons case. CJ Iqbal Hameedur Rehman resumed the hearing of a petition in his chamber and issued notices to the said authorities. Mohamamd Islam Abid, brother-in-law of missing Dr Abdul Qayoom, through his counsel Umer Hayat Sindhu, informed the court that officials of secret agencies kidnapped Dr Abdul Qayoom from outside his house in Rahim Yar Khan on July 27. The counsel further informed that his client had approached the DPO and other high officials but all went in vain. The counsel submitted in the court that his client (missing doctor) belonged to a religious family. The officials of secret agencies, for the last six years, were after the doctor and harassed him. In 2005, the wife of doctor filed a petition with the LHC, Bahawalpur Bench, which ordered the officials of secret agencies to refrain from harassing Qayoom. However, despite the court orders, the officials kept harassing his client, he added. The counsel requested the court to pass an order against illegal confinement of his client and also issue an order to the authorities concerned to produce his client in the court of law. The court, after hearing arguments of the counsel consolidated the missing person petitions of Hayan Dawar, Imran Yousaf Zai, Usama Hanif and fixed the hearing on August 4. Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General Tariq Mehmood Jahangri appeared and informed the court that DG ISI, DG MI and others had not yet received the summons. The court directed the IHC staff to ensure receiving of summons by the above-said officials. K
