Afghan attackers kill two shepherds in Chitral

CHITRAL: Two shepherds were killed by about three dozen attackers who came from Afghanistan in far flung of area Chitral near Pak-Afghan border on Thursday-Friday night.

Sources said that at least 35 armed assailants who came from Nooristan province of Afghanistan attacked five shepherds in Ghari area of Bhamborat, district Chitral.

The shepherds offered resistance but were not able to fight with 35 people equipped with heavy and automated weapons. Three managed to escape while two shepherds were killed.

Sources said that the two shepherds were slaughtered by the attackers but official sources haven’t confirmed their slaying.

Local residents said that firing continued for long time but police and other law enforcements agencies personnel present few kilometers from the scene of the attack reached after prolonged delay providing an opportunity to assailants to escape.
