LAHORE - Sixteen more matches were decided in the Servis Tyres Junior National Ranking Tennis Championship 2021 here at the PLTA Courts on Tuesday.
In the U-18 quarterfinals, Hamid Israr played well against Ahtesham Arif and outpaced him 6-2, 6-4 while Faizan Fayyaz defeated Hassan Ali 6-3, 6-4, promising player Abdul Hanan Khan faced some resistance from Shaeel Durab before winning the encounter 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 and Huzaima Abdul Rahman had to struggle hard to beat spirited Bilal Asim 6-4, 6-7, 6-2.
In the U-14 pre-quarterfinals, national U-14 champion Asad Zaman took little time to outclass Xeerak Mustafa 4-0, 4-0 while Abdul Basit beat Muhammad Sohaan 5-3, 5-3, Shehryar Anees thrashed Zain Saeed 4-0, 4-0, Raja Mustafa routed Talha Tarar 4-2, 4-2, Nabeel Ali Qayum trounced Inam Bari 4-0, 4-0 and Ahtesham Humayun crushed Abubakar Khalil 4-0, 4-0.
In the boys/girls U-12 quarterfinals, talented Amir Mazari (Aitcheson) didn’t allow Harris Bajwa to play freely and won the encounter well with a score of 4-0, 4-0. Hamza Roman also played superb tennis against Hajra and thrashed her 4-0, 4-0 while Abdul Basit overpowered Fajar Fayyaz 4-0, 4-0 and Abubakar Talha (Wapda) defeated Nabeel Ali Qayum 4-1, 4-2. In the boys/girls U-12 doubles quarterfinals, Nabeel Ali Qayum/Abdur Rehman beat Aalay Hussain/Eesa Bilal 4-0, 4-1 and Hajra/Fajar Fayyaz beat Eesa Bilal/Talha Tarar 4-2, 4-2.
