Police arrest six gamblers







LAKKI MARWAT - Police arrested six gamblers and a man along with a suspected motorcar in two separate actions on Tuesday.
A police party of Dadiwala police station carried out a raid on a gambling den and arrested six persons who were busy playing bet on cards. The arrested gamblers included Khan Zeb, Hakim Khan, Daulat, Munawar Khan, Gul Naib and Awal Hakim. A case was registered against them under relevant section of law and investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, acting on a tip off, a police party of Arsala check post stopped a suspected motorcar (BB-9052) near Chowkijand on Lakki-Mianwali road and asked the man onboard to produce relevant documents of the vehicle, said an official. “The car was reportedly going to Punjab from Bannu”, he told.
He said that the man was arrested and his car was impounded as he could not produce registration documents. He maintained that police registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, a prominent religious scholar and NRDF core committee member Mufti Ihsanullah Khan has said that oral polio vaccine is completely safe and people should administer it to their children below the age of five years to save them from lifelong paralyse.
Speaking at media briefing in the district health office here on Tuesday, he said that anti-polio drops were not laced with family planning pills and did not cause injurious effects on kids’ heath.
He told that people especially parents should not believe in misconceptions about the vaccine and should immunize their children against the disease.
