Stern action against terrorists if negotiations fail






PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information and Culture, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that a great deal of work has been done for confidence building among Afghanistan, Pakistan and United States of America so that terrorism could be eradicated and peace restored.
He said his government’s top priority was to seek a solution of the problems through negotiations, adding that if negotiations failed then stern action would be taken against terrorists in all areas including North Waziristan. He expressed these views while distributing cheques for renovation of mosques in his constituency PK-12 in a ceremony held at Bacha Khan Markaz in Peshawar the other day.
DCO Nowshera Ayaz Mandokhel, ANP District Nowshera President Ahrar Khattak and President ANP Zar Ali Khan were also present on this occasion.
Mian Iftikhar stressed a need for making good utilisation of the fund given for renovation of mosques. He said it was the first time that the government released funds for renovation and decoration of mosques.
He also asked the party organisation to make the preparation for the forthcoming local government election. He said that the forthcoming elections would be held on party basis, adding that the present system would be replaced by Deputy Commissioners and old magistracy system.
Expressing his views about the prevailing situation, the Information Minister said that Pakhtuns were a peaceful nation, which always refrained from extremism. However, unfortunately Pakhtuns belt during the last few decades have fallen victims to the conspiracy of foreign forces, which has led to the unannounced 3rd World War. He said that round about 3 millions Pakhtuns have lost lives so far adding that it was more than enough and our people could no more afford the ongoing bloodshed in the Pakhtun belt.
Speaking about the NATO supply, the provincial minister said that those who had given permission to such supplies during their government were now opposing it tooth and nail.
He said that we have put an end to Nato supplies and if needed to resume it would be conditional.
He said the people should realise the sensitivity of the situation and try to understand constraint of his government.
