ISLAMABAD - Police have arrested six outlaws and recovered narcotics and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
Following directions of SSP (Operations) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer, crackdown against criminals continues.
Following these directions, Sabzi Mandi and Shams Colony police arrested Imran and Mohsin Nawaz and recovered 3.165 kilogram hashish from their possession. Tarnol police arrested accused Gulzaib and recovered 1,350 grams hashish from him.
Karachi Company police arrested accused Nouman and recovered two wine bottles from him.
Koral police arrested accused Burhan and recovered 30 bore pistol from him. Noon police arrested accused Kashif and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Tarnol police arrested accused Gulzaib and recovered 1065 gram hashish from him.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.
During a special crackdown against professional alm-seekers and their handlers, police teams of various police stations arrested eight professional alm-seekers including four handlers.
DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar and SSP (Operations) and Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer have appreciated the police performance. They also sought cooperation of citizens for effective policing measures in the city.
Meanwhile, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police have arrested three members of a criminal gang who held and recovered cash, mobile phone and weapons from him, he added.
According to details, DIG (Operations) Islamabad police, Afzaal Ahmad Kausar has categorically directed all police officers to accelerate their efforts to curb crime and secure the city against criminals.
Following these directions, SSP (Investigation) Atta-ur-Rehman constituted a special police team under the supervision of DSP CIA also including ASI Muhammad Ishaq and others nabbed three members of a criminal gang.
Police team also recovered cash, mobile phones and weapons along with ammunition from their possession. Separate cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway.
DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar has appreciated the performance and directed all police officials to remain vigilant in their respective areas and to ensure safety and security of the citizens.
