PR Islamabad - The four-day student-led international inter-school/college annual talent marathon titled “IVY Youth Leadership Olympiad 2017” concluded with a star-studded line of events featuring the IVY-style awards show hosted by the country’s popular fashion, TV and movie icons, a statement said.
Latest designer-wear collections showcased by prominent designers, a special performance by the UK-based Sahara band, talent hunt Pakistan and concert by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan marked conclusion of the Olympiad. The event was jointly hosted by six IVY campuses located in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Roots IVY is known for having ‘the largest’ talent competitions and ‘well-reputed’ inter-school/college extra-curricular student activities in Pakistan for the past decade, enabling students to recognise their talents and come up with ingenious and innovative ideas to compete with the nation’s best.
Over 3,000 students from all over Pakistan as well as from prestigious institutions all over the world participated in the event, the statement added.
Following the opening ceremony, the talent competitions continued including business idea contest, dramatics, math Olympiad, minute to win it, declamation contest, science flair and make-over contest. Every aspect of the Olympiad represented Pakistani heritage and culture through splendid artwork, the statement said.
Prominent names in literature, science, arts, cookery, fashion, movie and music industries were invited to be a part of the event. The talent competitions also included Literature Boulevard, ad-making, e-gaming, battle of the bands, street graffiti, sketch making, thematic art, fashion show and talent hunt and treasure hunt.
An awards and fashion show was also organised by the IVY students that featured beautiful bridal collections of many famous fashion designers of Pakistan.
The event was hosted by actors Imran Abbas, Ahsan Khan and Maria Wasti. Top fashion designers complimented the students on their level of proficiency and adeptness.
Renowned Pakistani models and television actors, Nadia Hussain, Shermeen Ali and Rachel Gill, announced the winners of the IVY Style Awards.
CEO Roots IVY International Schools Pakistan Dr Khadija Mushtaq while highlighting success of the Olympiad encouraged the students to explore their potential talent and avail such dynamic opportunities.
The Olympiad finale concert was by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It was the second time that Rahat performed in any educational institute. He had a massive crowd of over 3,000 students swaying to his melodious super hits including “tere mast mast do nain”. At end of the musical evening, he thanked the IVY students for being so enthusiastic, lively, responsive and well disciplined.
Founder Roots School System Riffat Mushtaq gave out the shields to the winners at the closing ceremony and congratulated the IYLO core team, executive council and staff members on organising such a dynamic and vibrant event. She encouraged all students to work together and explore their potential talent through such dynamic platforms.
