ISLAMABAD - Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Alzaabi called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ in Rawalpindi on Thursday, says a statement issued by the ISPR. “Matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting”, it added.
The development follows a crucial day long visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to UAE on November 18, the second visit after assuming his office as Prime Minister in which Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and several of cabinet ministers also accompanied him.
The second visit of the Prime Minister was at the invitation of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Prime Minister also met Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the visit. Matters of bilateral, regional and global interest were discussed during the visit.
The development is significant in view of the engagement of two brotherly countries to evolve a strategic partnership to further deepen bilateral relations.
